Asdfghjkl...this book is amazing! Okay, so my friend Lish dragged me and several of our other friends to the cinema a while back to the the city of bones as she'd read the book and wanted to see it. I had not read the book at the time and I knew very little about it. Anyway, we saw the film and I really liked it. So for my birthday a few weeks back, she got me the fist book of the mortal instruments.
I only started reading it yesterday as I got the rest of the books from my parents. I have already read nearly 400 pages (there's about 500 pages in the book) and I love it so much! Half the time I can't put it down because it's so good. Parts of it are quite different to the film which is quite good and it's just brilliant!
SPOILERS!
So in the book Simon gets turned into a rat which I don't remember happening in the film and I just find it hilarious especially when Jace says "he's cute like that. Look at his pink little nose." I also think that Jace seems like more of an ass in the books, flirting with girls a lot and being really rude to poor Simon. I like the way that in the book you get to know more about what Clary is thinking and how she's feeling, whereas in the film you don't really get that.
This isn't a very long post becaus I want to get back to my book, but if any of you have been thinking about reading the book but haven't yet I really suggest you should because it is amazing!

Christmas
Christmas was a few days ago now and so I thought I'd tell you all a bit about my Christmas. My family and I opened presents in the morning and I received lots of lovely presents including eight books and Sherlock DVDs. (I will probably blog about the books as and when I read them)
My family and I then met up with some more family members at a restaurant where we had our Christmas dinner. We had a slot booked for 2pm and they were running very late and we didn't get taken to out table until nearly 3pm. The food was okay. The roast potatoes were horrible which was disappointing but we did get our food quite quickly. At one point we all got bored and a little silly so we started using our spoons to flick bits of paper from our Christmas crackers across the table at each other. (This happens every year with my family when we are having Christmas dinner)
After that, we all went back to mine and my parents house to open the rest of our presents. Within which I got another seven books and the whole of death note on DVD. Then my mum, sister, aunt and I began working on the buffet. We ended up with loads more food than we needed and so we've been trying to finish it off over the past couple of days.
Overall, Christmas was really good, I got loads of wonderful presents, had some nice food and got to spend time with my amazing family. I'd just like to say thank you to all my friends who got me a Christmas present this year, you're all amazing and I love you so much!
I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas too and I hope you have a great new year!

My Top 10... YOUTUBERS!
As you all know, I really love youtubers, so I thought I'd share my top 10 with you all.
1. Dan Howell. Aka danisnotonfire. Who else did you expect? I can't remember exactly when I first started watching his videos but I remember that I found him after I found Phil on YouTube. I am literally in love with Dan. It's a really unhealthy obsession, but I can nearly always relate to the things he says in his videos and he always makes me laugh and feel better about myself.

2. Phil Lester. Aka amazingphil. He was one of the first youtubers I started watching and I loved him within seconds of watching one of his videos. He's aybserloutly adorable and hilarious. I love his friendship with Dan, it's a very unique friendship that most people will never experience.
3. The janoskians. I find them hilarious, I love all their pranks and public disturbance videos. Plus they're Australian which is a bonus haha!
4. Zoella. Zoe is the person I turn to when I just want to watch a more girly video. When I want make-up tips or some fashion advice. She's also really funny and her videos always bring a smile to my face.
5. Marcus Buter. "Heeeeeeellllllllloooooooo!" Hahaha I love Marcus, he's so funny and incredibly good looking too. I love how childish he can be and I always watch his videos when I want to watch something fun and lighthearted especially if I've had a bad day and just want to laugh.
6. PJ. I love Peej. He is the best storyteller ever! I love stories and I always find his so fun and inspirational. Whenever I'm looking for some creativity I turn to his videos. Plus his voice is so captivating which I probably part of the reason he's such a good story teller.
7. Itswaypastmybedtime. Aka Carrie Fletcher. I can relate to Carrie in many ways, I think we have very similar personalities. She's a really inspirational person, always helping others and being a successful West-end actress now. Her videos are always inspiring and funny!
8. Troye Sivan. I only started watching his videos in about August, but I think he's brilliant. He's hilarious and I love his videos. I think was incredibly brave when he posted his coming out video and it really made me like him more. He's brilliant in ever way.
9. Alfie Deyes. Aka pointlessblog. Alfie is one of the funniest youtubers ever, but he can also be inspirational which is a great combination. Although he has massive eyebrows, he also has a massive heart and I think he's great!
10. Emma Blackery. She's funny, honest, sassy and inspirational. I love her hilarious stories and her honest opinions. She's one of the sassiest youtubers ever and I think it's brilliant. She's also a really talented singer which is a bonus!
If you haven't watched any of any of their videos then you really should because they're all amazing. If I could then I would tell you about all the other youtubers I like but I have limited myself to 10 haha!

Hospitals and Red Roses
Today has been a pretty good day, I woke up at about eight which is quite early for me on a Saturday. I started the day by exercising for about an hour which is good. I used my new Soap and Glory products which are amazing! I done loads of chores too as my dad threatened to turn the wifi off haha!
Yesterday was a horrible day though as my mum became very ill and had to go to hospital. This happens every so often, but her medication is supposed to help. However it obviously didn't help her yesterday. Our neighbour and my sister took her to the hospital, leaving me at home on my own. This was when I was glad I had Amy to talk to as I was extremely worried about my mum. Luckily, later that evening my mum came home. Her medication will be changing and she has to take it easy for a few days, but she'll be okay. Just got to survive till her operation in London next year.
So my sister and I went out today and got some beautiful red roses for my mum to try to cheer her up a bit. I'm glad she was sent home and I'm hoping nothing like that happens at Christmas because she gets very stressed at Christmas which can set it off. When things like that happen it helps you to not take your parents for granted.
I hope you guys are all having a good week and are looking forward to Christmas. Have a good day chums!

Best Beauty Buy
A few days ago I ordered one of the Soap and Glory bags called 'the Yule Monty' which has loads of amazing beauty products inside and I thought I'd tell you all about it!
So, it's in a massive pink and silver travel bag. It was originally about £60 but I only paid about £30 for mine as it was half price.
So, it's in a massive pink and silver travel bag. It was originally about £60 but I only paid about £30 for mine as it was half price.
The first item is the Righteous Butter. Which is 300ml. I have used this stuff before and it is really good, it makes your skin much softer and is really good on dry skin too.
Next is the Peaches and Clean which is a 200ml cleanser. I have not used this before but it says it's appropriate for all skin types and who doesn't love the smell of peaches?
Then there's the Butter Yourself moisture lotion which is 500ml. Again, I have not used this before but apparently is good for rough elbows, bumpy upper arms and flaky lower legs. I don't really have any of those but I'm sure it's a great body moisturiser.
There's the Sugar Crush body wash which is also 500ml. I have used this before and I really liked it. I have really sensitive skin which can flare up really bad with most products but I found that this one didn't so I'm really glad I've got this massive bottle to keep me going.
Next is the Scrub of Your Life which is 200ml. I haven't used this one before either but it's supposed to be super-smoothing and I look forward to testing that theory.
The Heel Genius is the 125ml foot cream. I have not used this one before, but if it's anything like the hand cream then I look forward to using it. It also says "no mean feet" on the back which I find cute and funny haha!
Then there's Hand Food which is the hand cream. Again, it's 125ml. I have used this hand cream before and I really love it! It makes my hands really soft especially when I need it most in the winter because my hands can get really dry.
Next is the Thick and Fast 10ml mascara. I haven't used this before and I don't know a lot about it but it says "super volume" on it so hopefully it's good.
Finally it's the Extreme Plump 10ml lip gloss. I've never used this before either but it says "sexy mother pucker" on it which gives me high hopes haha!
Those are all the products apart from the bag obviously. Unfortunately Boots do not have any of these particular kits left but I do suggest you try out some of Soap and Glory's products because they are amazing!

Christmas preparations
It's six days till Christmas now. Only six days. So I thought I'd make a list of all the preparations that need to be done for Christmas. Let's begin!
1. Decorations. You need to get your tree up, put up the lights and tinsel etc. I actually always find it really fun to put up the decorations, especially the tree. You need to make everything as Christmassy as possible!
2. Buying presents. I have already got most of my presents. You have to try to get gifts suited to the people you're buying them for, even if you can't afford a lot, it's the thought that counts.
3. Wrapping presents. This involves quite a bit of hard work. Especially the odd shaped presents haha! But wrapping is essential, you have to use the most fun looking Christmas wrapping paper you can find!
4. Food. I love buying the food for Christmas, whether it's a turkey or food for a buffet or just loads of sweets! We are having a buffet this year which means we need lots of food to feed all the people coming over.
5. Tidy up. If you're having people over at Christmas then you need to make sure that your house is not a mess or people will probably trip over and break their legs which is not fun on Christmas Day haha!
I thought there would be more preparation but I can't think of anything else. Maybe this will help some of you prepare for Christmas, I hope it does haha! Have a good day chums!

Would You Rather Beauty Tag
I got this from Lish, sorry, I was too lazy to come up with anything else today!
1.Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up or Nice hair and no make-up?
Nice hair and no make up probably.
2.Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out?
Shave my eyebrows because it would look really funny!
3.Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life?
MAC
4.Would you rather wear lip gloss/lip liner look or 80's perm?
80's perm because they're awesome!
5.Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?
Overdone blush although either would be pretty bad.
6.Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public?
MC Hammer pants, they are much cooler!
7.Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that can't be covered?
Weird tan lines. Who wants to be orange?!
8.Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair colour?
Bad hair cut because you can get it cut again soon after somewhere else whereas you have to wait ages for colour to fade or dye it again.
9.Would you rather have you tube or twitter taken away forever?
Why would you do this to me?! Ugh, twitter.
10. Would you rather give up using make-up brushes or mascara?
Mascara. It's not like I really need it that much anyway.
If you liked the tag you should do it yourself. Have a good day chums!

Crushes
I am a teenage girl. This means that occasionally there will be a boy that I will like quite a bit. I have had many 'crushes' throughout my 17 years of life. I refuse to actually name any of them, they will all be people I actually knew/know and not famous ones.
I'm going to start with my first crush, which was when I was about five. It was a boy I was friends with at the time (even though when you're five you're friends with everyone really) and his mum and my mum were really good friends. We used to go round each others houses all the time but eventually I stopped liking him because I was about five.
Next was when I was about 12 (wow Claire you've liked so many people) he was a few years older than me. When I look back now I cringe at the fact that I ever liked him. I ended up going out with him but then he dumped me for one of my best friends and so now I hate him. It's not a story I like to tell people because it makes me feel like I'm second best and that I will never be good enough.
Then it was a guy in my history class in year 11, when I was 15/16. I liked him for over a year and I hated it because I was convinced that he would never like me back. My friends would constantly tease me about it and Paige once told him loads of embarrassing stories about me. I actually ended up dating one of his best friends and kind of stopped liking him.
I went out with this guy recently because I kind of liked him and I found out that he liked me. However, one of my friends liked him so it was pretty awkward. But after a few weeks I realised that I didn't like him enough that way to continue our relationship so I ended it with him. He was pretty mad at me to begin with but I think we're okay now.
The next one is the guy I currently like. He's in my sociology class and he's retaking so he's technically in the year above me. I don't really know him too well so I don't like him loads but I also don't really understand why I like him anyway. He's always getting told off for talking and he's into kind of punk rock music (I think). My friends are now finding out that I like him and it's kind of annoying but at the same time I'm glad I can talk to someone about it. I don't know if I'll continue to like him or not but I guess I'll find out sooner or later.
I may have had more crushes than this, but I have the memory of like a goldfish so I can't remember any others.

My Top 10... FILMS!
My top 10 films are:
1. The Hunger Games and Catching Fire - I put these two together because they are obviously part of a series and I love them both equally. I have not read the books but I will be getting them for Christmas. Both films are incredible though, I have the first one on DVD and I've watched it about twenty times haha. I saw catching fire at the cinema a few weeks ago when it first came out and it was amazing.
2. Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides - obviously, we have the fact that it's staring Johnny Depp who is such an incredible actor. There are mermaids in this one too which is why I love it so much, I also find it hilarious. The other films are really good too, but this one is definitely my favourite.
3. Harry Potter films - I put them all together because I can't pick which one I like the most. I love the books and I love the films. I saw the films first obviously and I loved them so much. I saw the last ever one at the cinema with my mum and we cried. Probably the best film series ever!
4. Alice in Wonderland - this is the Tim Burton version as it is much better than the others. Again, it's staring Johnny Depp as the mad hatter. I love the characters in Alice in Wonderland and it was one of my favourite stories as a child, I always saw myself as a bit of an 'Alice' to be honest haha.
5. Daybreakers - this film gives a much more realistic idea of vampires. They will not sparkle and fall in love with you. They will drink your blood. I saw this at the cinema when I was 13 and it was a 15 certificate but came out on DVD as an 18 so I felt so badass. My friend and I got told off for laughing when a guy's head got chopped off.
6. The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones - my friend had read the book and forced us all to go and see the film with her. It was amazing. I pissed me off near the end, but I still loved it. I will be reading the books now. I really want them to make the next one into a film too because I'd love to see what happens next.
7. Beautiful Creatures - this is another book based film. It was so good though, I loved how they were called casters instead of witches, it makes the film different to others about witches. I thought that parts of it were incredibly sad and it made me so mad at times haha. It kind of ended on a cliff hanger which has annoyed me.
8. The Incredibles - I'm sorry for sounding like a child, but this is the best animated superhero film ever! I love the way it involves the whole family too, when I was a child I always wanted my parents to come over to me one day and tell me that they're superheroes and that I'm one too haha.
9. Dispicable Me - oh my gosh. I've only seen this the one time, but I loved it. It was hilarious and amazing. I also really want my own minion now, they're so cute. And when he kisses them all goodnight...awwww.
10. Love Actually - it's hilarious, Christmassy, and romantic. It's also got my mums favourite actor in it, Alan Rickman, who portrayed Severus Snape in Harry Potter. The film always makes me laugh and I find it such a sweet film too and it gets me into the Christmas spirit.
Thos are my top 10 favourite films, I'll do another top 10 soon. They're in no particular order really, I guess my most favourite ones are near the top.

Cursed
I am one of those people that have bad things happen to them all the time. I swear I'm probably cursed!
So today I found out that my brand new headphones don't actually connect to my phone properly so I had to walk home only listening to half of Alone Together by Fall Out Boy which annoyed me so much! Yesterday I burnt mine, Amy and lish's pizza. On my birthday! A few days ago I brought a hot chocolate and if thought I waited long enough for it to cool down before I drank any but I was wrong and I burnt my mouth.
I have a feeling it's worse on Friday the 13th because last year I slipped into a massive muddy puddle and I was covered in mud head to toe all day! Right now everyone keeps telling me to be careful because it's Friday 13th this Friday. I may have to blame my nanny for the whole Friday 13th part though because bad things happen to her too as last year she broke her arm on Friday 13th.
On my birthday danisnotonfire aka my favourite youtuber was supposed to be uploading a new video which was really exciting, but it wasn't uploaded until the next day because it took so long for him to edit it and I didn't get to see the new video on my birthday. I also forgot my phone when I went to sixth form on my birthday so I couldn't reply to anyone's "happy birthday" texts either.
I am constantly tripping over things, even if there's nothing to actually trip over I still manage to trip. I fall UP the stairs and down them too. I always burn food whenever I try to cook. I am super clumsy, do not let me hold anything that might break because I will drop it and you will hate me.
I hope I'm not actually cursed. If I am then I hope I get cured because I am a good person who does not deserve to suffer! Haha, have a great day guys!

Friendship
This post is about friendship. I've had many different friends throughout my sixteen (almost seventeen) year of existence, but none have ever really been as good as the ones I have now. I've been friends with bitchy people, drama queens, annoying people, mean people, the list goes on. It wasn't until I became friends with my current friends that I learnt the true meaning of friendship.
We're going to start with Amy, simply because her name begins with an A. I don't remember when I met Amy, I think it was in English in year eight though. She had a nice little fringe back then haha. We became quite good friends throughout the years and we've grown a lot closer lately as she's in my sociology and maths classes at sixth form so I see her the most. She is a really kind and funny person who I am privileged to have her as a friend. Near the end of summer Amy got a job at Burger King and became the "burger queen". I remember that we would call her "A* Amy" because she used to always get an A* in tests. Back in year eight or nine she called me bandana lady because I wore a bandana a few times (I was really cool). That was around the time when we discovered that her mum and my aunt were really good friends in high school. Lately we've spent a lot of time together and she's probably my closest friend right now. She knows all my secrets and we have great times on the late bus with her "bump noises" haha. I hope I never lose contact with her when we both go off to university or become a manager at Burger King haha!
Next is Paige. I think I met Paige in year eight too, I'm not sure though because I have the memory of a deranged goldfish. We bonded through laughing at lish during PE saying she ran like a penguin. We grew closer over the years and eventually she became my "zero best friend". I have written a whole blog post about her if you want to know more about her. She's one of the funniest people on the whole planet and I really do miss her so much now as she's a college while I'm at sixth form. I wish I could see her more often as I'm worried we are drifting apart.
Lish is third. I met lish in year eight. Obviously our friendship started with Paige and I laughing at her (which we still do now). We became really good friends over the past few year as we have a lot in common. We both love the same tv shows, films, books, some of the same music. This means that we always have something to talk about and we get along really well. She's a very short girl who's obsessed with the vampire diaries and the wanted. She's boy crazy (which is not surprising when you know how many celeb crushes she has) and she's very cheery. She's always there for you when you're upset and she's a genuinely nice person who I'm glad I'm friends with!
Moving on to the fabulous Elli. (I have wrote a whole blog post about her too because she complained about not being in my blog enough) I have known Elli since fist school. We have had our differences in the past, but now we get along so well. We're in the same psychology class which brought us closer together and I call her Beryll sometimes. She's absolutely hilarious and so small. I swear she has the worlds tiniest hands, they're so adorable. She's definitely slightly insane, but that's what makes her who she is. She's a kind girl who's super smart (smarter than me haha) and she gives amazing cuddles!
The last few (I'm only writing them all together because I'm tired and lazy now haha) are Siobhan, who it completely obsessed with horrible histories and yonderland. We've had our differences but overall we're really good friends and she's really funny and nice. There's also Maddy who I only met a few months ago, but she's really nice and funny and we have psychology together so we're getting to know each other better. Jessie is a wonderful person who's hilarious and cuddly. She is just as weird as Elli but that's a good thing haha. There's also Kezia, I've known her since year seven. She's one of the kindest people ever and she's really smart and funny too. I remember once in English she spilt her water all over the the table and we spent the rest of the lesson slowly cleaning it up and it was hilarious. Ellen is incredibly good at art and photography. She's a really funny and kind person. I remember we were really close in year nine and we had this "immature" fight.
There are probably a few people I haven't talked about yet, I'm sorry if I did leave anyone out. I love all my friends so much and I'm so glad I met every single one of them!

Health and Fitness
It's quite ironic that I'm blogging about health and fitness since I am currently the most unhealthy person like, ever! However, I am tired of being unfit and overweight so I am starting a new diet and fitness regime. I would normally say "oh I'll start that tomorrow or Monday" but not this time. I am starting now. I am really excited about this because it means I'll be able to lose some weight, which I really need to do haha. It will also make me feel much happier.
Luckily there are two exercise machines in my house, and I have my own weights. This means I don't have to go to any gyms or have to use an exercise DVD (because they really annoy me). It will be tough to only eat healthy food and exercise every day, but I will constantly remind myself why I am doing it which will hopefully motivate me to keep going.
I know that it will be a long and difficult process for me, but I know that it will be worth it. I'm going to be 17 soon and I don't want to be stuck this weight for the rest of my life. My friends and family always tell me that I'm fine and I don't need to lose weight, but I really do and I need them to be supportive of me. I want 2014 to be the year I achieve my goal weight, hopefully by the end of February (or sooner, I don't know) in time to see my favourite band as a way to "earn" the concert tickets for myself.
If any of you want to get fit or have some kind of goal that you want to achieve, then go for it. Start now. Right now. You'll succeed. And you'll feel great about it. Hope you all have a great day!

Exciting Events
There are so many events coming up that I'm really excited about. So I thought I'd tell you all about them.
First, is my birthday! Which is in exactly a week! That's seven days guys! I'm really excited. I'm going to be getting some 5sos stuff, some CDs, some books, and some money. My two friends Amy and Lish are coming round mine in the afternoon and we're going to have pizza and watch films. I have got sixth form on my birthday, but I only have one actual lesson, the rest is private study and conference.
Second, is Christmas! I am excited for Christmas for obvious reasons. I'm not going to go on too much about it. I'll be getting Death Note DVDs, more books, more CDs, more 5sos stuff, and Sherlock.
Third, is ice-skating. I don't know when we're actually going to go, but my friends and I are going to go ice-skating at some point. It will be me, Amy, Emma, Elli, Lish, Siobhan, Emily, Kezia, Paige, and probably some other people I have forgotten. (Sorry if I forgot anyone)
Fourth, is new year. I am excited for it to be the new year because it means I can make new crap New Years resolutions that I don't stick to and stay up till midnight, though I'll probably be in bed by seven. I can also open my "good things in 2013" jar and look back through all the good things that have happened this year.
Fifth, is lish's birthday in January. I'm excited for this because we will probably do something for her birthday which will be fun!
Sixth, is city of bones comes out on DVD in January. I'm excited because I saw the film at the cinema and I loved it, hence I'm getting the books, and I really want to be able to watch it again.
Seventh, is the 5SOS concert! I am buzzing so much for this! I have not shut up about the concert since I got tickets! I just...ASDFGHJKLZXCVBNMQWERTYUIOP! Sorry, I'm a bit excited!
Eighth, the fault in our stars movie. I am incredibly worried that the movie won't be as good as the book and that I'll be disappointed. But hopefully it will be amazing and make me cry like the book did.
Ninth, is summer in the city. I don't know when tickets are actually going to be available, but I really want to go. Chances are, they'll either be too expensive, sell out, or my parents won't let me go. But I'm hoping I'll get to go so I can meet all my favourite youtubers!
Tenth, is the 5SOS album. I don't know when it's actually coming out. The boys keep saying it will be soon, but who knows?! I really just want to listen to the whole album already!
So, quite a few exciting things that I am looking forward to. I hope you all have some great things to look forward to too!

Winter Wonderland
I love winter, it's my second favourite season. First of all, you have Christmas. Christmas is amazing obviously, with the presents, food, family, food, Santa, food. Secondly, there's snow. I love snow! You can build a snowman, have snowball fights, get into trouble for having snowball fights. Plus the snow looks really pretty when it lays on the ground. Thirdly time off school/sixth form etc. This means, no work to do which is always nice. No annoying teachers or deadlines.
I know that there are also bad sides to winter. If you're poor then it's difficult to afford good presents, if any, which can be quite depressing and make you feel bad. Secondly, you might not be able to see your family at Christmas, if you're away or they are. Thirdly, it can be quite stressful having to cook the dinner or make the buffet, to buy and wrap the presents. Finally, it's very, very cold! However, there are several things you can do to keep warm during winter, here are a few of my suggestions.
Things you can do to keep warm:
1. Use lots of blankets
2. Drink hot drinks
3. Wear thick coats, hats, gloves, scarves
4. Wear big thick jumpers
5. Fluffy socks
6. Cuddles
7. Staying in your warm comfy bed
8. Fires and heating
9. Not actually going outside
10. The heat from your computer on your lap
I hope you all enjoy this winter, get all the presents you want and stay warm. Speak to you later my lovelies!

Concerts
I have never in my life been to a concert. There have been quite a few that I've wanted to go to, but I've never been able to go to any. However, now, my favourite band ever, 5SOS, are coming to my city. They're coming here next year in February and I'm begging my parents to get me tickets. The presage started tomorrow and I'm hoping that they'll get me tickets. It would be so amazing to actually go and see them live.
I'd love to go to an All Time Low concert and a One Direction concert. But they never come to my city. I never thought that 5sos would ever come to my city, because not many good bands do, but they are and I am so excited! Even if I don't manage to get tickets I'm still going to go out and stalk them, because it would be amazing if I got to meet them. I'm probably going to end up screaming if I get to go. I'll try to get as close to the front as possible, and sing along as loud as I can. Luckily, I'm getting a 5sos shirt and hoodie for Christmas which means that I would have something brilliant to wear if I go to the concert. My dad keeps looking at the email I forwarded to him about it so hopefully he'll get me tickets.
Hope you're all having a wonderful day, don't forget to smile!

Grief
Grief is something that everyone will experience. You feel grief when people die. It works in strange ways. People express grief in different ways. But it's inevitable that you will feel grief for someone in your life when they die.
It makes you feel empty and broken inside. You miss the person who has passed away so much it aches. You cry until your eyes are sore. Sometimes you just want to be alone to cry. You might yell at other people, getting angry. You'd do anything to bring them back, anything at all. You know they're dead and it feels like a dream, like it can't be true. You try to find someone to blame, even if it's no ones fault. You want to stop feeling the pain. Everything starts to remind you of them, making the emptiness and pain you feel inside worse. This goes on for weeks.
You're going to feel grief throughout your whole life. People die all the time, there's nothing we can do about it. You just have to try to go on. People will tell you that it gets easier, that it hurts a little less as the days pass. But that's not true. It doesn't get easier, we just get used to the pain.

Death
It is inevitable that one day every one is going to die. The only question we can ask is when? Or how? I don't know when I'm going to die or how it's going to happen, but I know that it will happen. I know that one day my parents will die, I know that one day my friends will die. It's not the nicest thought in the world, but it's true.
In films, they make death look kind. People dying quickly or in their sleep. But in reality, it's not like that at all. Most of the time it's slow and painful. It won't be peaceful at all. The worst part is not knowing what will happen afterwards. Is there a heaven? I hope there is. Otherwise what's the point? If there isn't some kind of afterlife then what happens to our loved ones once they die? What will happen to us once we die? There's got to be something. I can't even begin to fathom the idea that once you die it's just all over.
My dog died last night. It hit me hard. Made me start thinking about death. It wasn't a nice "she died in her sleep peacefully" kind of death. She had a fit in the middle of the living room, she was shaking violently and we couldn't make it stop. After it finally did stop, we were calling the vets. She started crying and howling in pain and shock and panic. I had to hold her still and try to calm her down, with no avail. We had to get ther to the vets. When she stood up she just began walking into things. She was completely blind. My parents then took her to the vets. She didn't come back.
The reality of death is that it's not peaceful, or quick and painless. It's very slow and painful. I hope my dog is in a better place now, I can't afford to think anything else. I have this empty feeling inside me now. She had been in my life since I was two years old. I feel like when she died, a part of me died with her.

Christmas
It's still November I know, but I'm really excited about Christmas! It's a time when all the family get together and you have loads of food and give each other presents! Everyone is so happy at Christmas, there will be the odd argument about who's doing what, but overall it's a happy time. I love being able to spend lots of time with my family, celebrating the birth of Jesus. I always end up being the only one putting up the decorations, it will be me, carrying a massive Christmas tree down the stairs, decorating it. I'll be the one singing Christmas tunes as I put tinsel on as many objects as possible. But it's always fun anyway.
At Christmas I always end up eating too much because my mum over done it with the buffet or I received one too many selection boxes. Unfortunately, Santa won't be visiting me this year as I am now over 16 and he needs to make sure he gets presents to the other, younger children. I don't mind though, he's brought me lots of great presents in the past. I'll be helping my mum a lot this year as she's had a lot of health problems and I wouldn't want her to end up in hospital again, especially not at Christmas.
I'm currently struggling with being able to afford presents as I don't actually have a job and therefore aren't earning any money, but my sister says she will give me a 'loan' over Christmas and I can pay her back later. I'm not going to be able to get any of my friends very expensive gifts this year, so I'm hoping that they don't spend too much on me because it wouldn't be fair, I also have an annoying boyfriend to buy a present for along with my parents and my sister. It's going to be tough but hopefully I'll get everything in time and not struggle too much with the payments.
I hope you all have a good Christmas, I know I will. I'm going to be getting the Death Note DVDs, lots of CDs and even a 5SOS hoodie!

Growing up
I've been thinking a lot about my birthday lately, since it's in 17 days. I will be turning 17 (I'll be turning 17 in 17 days hahaha) and I still feel like I'm 13 years old. I don't know if I'm ready to be 17 because that means I'll only have a year till I'm 18 and being 18 means you're technically an adult and I really don't want to be an adult, ever. I am not 'adult' material. I don't have a job yet, I don't tidy up after myself, I won't even book my own dentist appointments! I don't want to have to live on my own, doing everything for myself, I'm not ready to have responsibilities. How the hell to bills work? What is insurance? What is a hoover? Ok, so maybe I know what a hoover is, but the point is that I don't understand half the things I'm going to need to know in about a year and a half. I don't have time to learn all about it either, I'm doing sixth form which means I don't have much spare time.
Growing up also means making big decisions. I have to think about university. Hopefully I'll get the right grades to get in to university. I have to choose where I want to go, what course I want to do. Maybe I'll end up having a gap year. There are too many decisions. But I don't have long to choose what to do. I'm growing up way too fast and the past 16 years feel like a blur. And I know that the next 16 years will end up feeling the same, but that's how time works. I'm growing up and I'm just not ready.

Harry Potter
I watched the Harry Potter films before I read the books. A lot of people only ever see the films and never read the books, but I really loved the films so I decided to actually read the books too.
In some respects the films are better than the books as you can actually see it come to life and watch all the effects and amazing acting. But on the other hand, sometimes the books are better. I've just about finished the second book as it took me a while to actually pick up the first book and read it. So far I really like Ginny in the books more than I do in the films, this is nothing against the actress I think she's great, I just like the way book Ginny is much more of a "fangirl" of Harry. I think it's more true to her character.
The books are amazing so far, I just wish I had more time so I could read them quicker as I really like them. But I read them as often as I can and I'm really glad I decided to read the books. If you've seen the films and are unsure wether to read the books or not then I think you should.
If you've never seen the films or read the books, like my friend Amy, then you really should. Both the films and the books are brilliant, they are completely worth the time it takes to read or watch them. I guarantee that you will like them.

Friendship
I've never been the most popular girl at school. In middle school I had pretty much one or two friends. I didn't have a lot of friends at the beginning of high school and the friends I did have weren't very nice people.
But now I feel as though I have the bestest friends in the universe. They are all ways there for me and constantly making me laugh. I don't know what I'd do without them. You have Amy, the burger queen. Paige, the anti-social cat lover. Alicia, the vampire diaries and youtubers obsessed. Elli, the little crazy one. Then there's Jessie, Siobhan, Emma, Kezia, Maddy, and Ellen.
It's difficult to find people that you can get along with really well, but when you do it's brilliant. I believe that all of my friends make me a better person. They make me happier too. I don't think I'd be doing too well if I didn't have them in my life to support me. Even though some of us have had our ups and downs, at the end of the day we're all still there for each other. And we always will be.
I'd never want to lose any of my friends, but I feel as though it is inevitable. When we leave to go to university, or just end up losing contact with each other. Hopefully I won't lose all of them. All I do know is that I'll never meet anyone as amazing as the friends I have now and I am so glad I met them and it's been a privilege to have known them.

A-Levels
So, I'm only doing three A-Levels. Sociology, psychology and maths. I'm just going to tell you a bit about each of them, mostly because I need to rant about one of them.
Now, I done sociology at GCSE, so quite a bit of it is stuff I learnt over the past two years. Obviously there are some new things that I have to learn too. I've been doing pretty well in it, getting an A- and a few Bs which it quite good at A-Level. I'm am getting on well with the work, I understand it. Plus Amy's in my class which just makes everything better haha! Overall, it's good and I'm really glad I'm taking it.
Next is psychology. Until September I'd never done any psychology before. But apparently, according to one of my psychology teachers, I have a "flair" for psychology (my friends like to point out that flair rhymes with Claire). I have received several As and once even got the highest score in the class. Obviously, I'm really glad I took psychology as an A-Level because I'm doing really well and enjoying it!
Finally, maths. At first it was all ok. I was just about understanding everything, but then... I didn't. There is so much to learn at A-Level maths and I'm only a few months in to it. I'm struggling a little bit with the work, and apparently it's going to get tougher. Brilliant. Just what I needed. I think if I still had the choice I would actually drop maths, but I can't because we're too far into the course. I didn't realise how hard it was going to be until like last week. If I could go back and change it I would probably do ICT as it doesn't look too difficult and I done it at GCSE so I know most of it already. Unfortunately, I can't change it now so I have to stick with maths and try my best not to fail. As long as I get an E (which is a pass) I'll be fine.

The Fault In Our Stars - John Green
This is a post of my feelings on The Fault In Our Stars. Which I read yesterday and if you haven't read it then I seriously recommend it.
WARNING: this post will contain spoilers from the fault in our stars by John Green. If you haven't read the whole book and are planing to then I suggest you don't read this.
I just read the Fault in our Stars. I cried near the end. A lot. Which probably isn't very surprising to anyone else who has read the book. I was stupid. I became attached to the characters. It made me appreciate what I have got but at the same time it made me wonder what would happen if I, like Augustus Waters, died. What would become of my parents? Would I be remembered? It made me realise that I have done such little in my sixteen years of existence. I live such an average life. If I died today who would remember me? I am so unimportant in this world. I am just another human being, so overly concerned in my terribly short life, just passing the time until I die. I doubt I will be remembered for very long once I die. No one ever really is. People move on.
The book has annoyed me in so many ways. The whole way through, I thought, if anyone were to die, it would be Hazel. But no. Alas, Augustus died instead. Why? Because the world is a cruel place and people die. Everyone must die eventually. Why does it matter if it's in fifty years or a day? It's not about how long you've got. It's about what you do in the little time you have left. I didn't want Augustus to die. Although, part of me thought that it was inevitable really. Someone was going to die. I mean, these were kids with cancer. Not that everyone with cancer dies. But if someone is going to write a book about kids with cancer, chances are one of them will die. Part of me hates John Green for letting Augustus die, but the other part of me cannot blame him. It is still a truly beautiful book.
I understand that Green was purposely letting us get attached to the characters. He knew how upset we would be when Augustus dies. But that's the point. Green wanted to make us feel something, through his writing. And he did. He made us happy and sad, sometimes at the same time. I read this book in a day. I could not seem to put it down. I had to know how it ended, just as Hazel had to know what happened at the end of "An Imperial Affliction" though I am not sure if I'm glad I finished the book. I both love and hate this book. It's toyed with my emotions like a child would her dolls. It's like it's cursed to be my favourite and my least favourite book at the same time. I do know one thing though, this book has changed my whole perspective on life. I will never see anything the same way again. Because I know now, that "there is no shortage of fault to be found amid our stars."

Taking things for granted
Over the past few days I've had a bad cough and today I have lost my voice. This is bad because I have a Halloween party to go to tonight so I'm not going to try to talk for the next eight hours and I'm going to drink lots and do some steam inhalation to get my voice back. Hopefully I'll get it back for the party. That's not the point though. You see, losing my voice got me thinking about all the things we take for granted, like speaking for instance. I am one of those types of people who talk all the time, and way too much. I don't even think about talking, I'm never thinking "oh gosh talking is so amazing! I am so grateful I can talk!" Because talking is just something that most people can do and you just don't think anything of it. However, losing my voice has made me appreciate it a lot more.
There are lots of other things we all take for granted too. Like food, family, education, our homes. These things have always just been there and so we just assume that they always will be. We aren't grateful enough for them, even though some of them are key to our survival. We take them for granted. There are people out there who don't have some of these things. They don't take them for granted because they're things that these people don't have very often. We don't understand what it's like to not have enough food or have no education because these things come so easily to us.
I feel like I should be more grateful for the things I have. I wish everyone had what I have. It makes me sad to think of children starving to death in other countries while we sit here eating as much as we want.

Sponsored Walk
On Friday, my whole school done a sponsored walk. None of us really had a choice, but we didn't mind too much. It was all good at first. Me and my friend Lish drew cat whiskers on our faces and I wore my llama hat (are we getting a theme here?) and it was all fun and games at first. However, after about three hours of walking, we all started to feel a little tired. I'm not even sure how long it took for us to walk it, but I do know that me and my friends were some of the last people to finish it. This may have been because our bus was one of the last busses to arrive or it may just be because we're lazy. By the end of it everyone's legs hurt and we were all moaning about it.
My arms also hurt. Now this was because in the morning me and my friend Amy decided that we would volunteer to help carry some computer monitors across the school, up the stairs and into the class room. It was perfectly fine until we saw the boys carrying two. Now, being a competitive person, I agreed with Amy to take two monitors. Turns out, we weren't really strong enough to carry two. Amy also decided that she would admit to the boys that we weren't strong enough. They laughed at us and one of them had to hold the doors open for us. To make it worse, my crush was one of the boys who had carried two and I looked like a weak pathetic little girl in front of him.
Overall Friday wasn't too bad I suppose. My legs still ache but I'm hoping they'll feel better soon. I'm off to a buffet at my grandparents soon, I hope you all have a lovely afternoon.

Halloween
I've been invited to a Halloween party this year and I'm quite looking forward to it. However, I have no idea what I am going to be for Halloween! I don't actually have a Halloween costume yet so I'm going to have to get something on Tuesday. I'm probably going to go for something simple as I'm not very rich but I'm going to try to look good. I'm a little worried about the party as I know there is going to be alcohol and I've never really got properly drunk before, but I'm hoping that my friends will make sure I don't drink too much. Obviously I won't be telling my parents that there will be alcohol because they're a bit protective of me.
As it's halloween, I have a half term which means I have a week off. I'm supposed to be going round my friend lish's tomorrow but first of all it depends on this storm that will be happening over night and secondly I'm really scared that I've caught another cold as I keep coughing. Hopefully everything will be ok and I'll go and see her tomorrow as planned. I'm going to the city with my mum and my sister on Tuesday. I'll be seeing my zero best friend and lots of my other friends on Wednesday, the Halloween party is on Thursday and apparently we'll all be crashing at Eddie's on Thursday night so I won't leave till Friday. This is going to be such a busy week. But it will be worth it. As long as I don't get ill.
I hope you all have a great Halloween, don't eat too many sweets! Have a nice day!

Stories
I love stories. I just think they're amazing. I guess that's why I love books so much. I love the way a story can take you to a whole other world, with different people and places. The way they can make you feel, from excited to devastated. It's truly wonderful. It's like an escape. You just kind of forget about the real world and what's going on in your life. You become wrapped up in this imaginary person's life. Worrying about their problems and feeling their emotions.
When the story is really good, it will distract you for hours. Even after you've put the book down again. All the mysteries and problems the characters are facing will echo through your mind, causing you to try to come up with solutions and plans. Making it very difficult to concentrate on your own life. You'll just want to go back to the book to find out how the story ends.
I love the way you become so attached to the characters. Feeling happy when they're happy, crying when one dies. Always rooting for the good guys and hating the bads guys. Completely falling in love with some of the most amazing characters, wishing they were real people. Sometimes you feel as though the world in the book is so much better than the real world and you'll spend hours pondering and wondering what things would be like if you were a character in the book.
But I hate that feeling, when the story finally comes to an end. When you reach the last page of the book. Knowing that the adventure is over. Your life forever changed by one incredible story. You have to go back to your own life, move on from the characters and the places in your book. But they always remain there, in the back of your mind, just waiting for you to read the book again.

Jobs
I need a job. The trouble is I can't find one. Well, I've tried applying to lots of different places, but it seems that no one wants me. I would like a retail job for weekends, but most places want full time workers or not weekend workers. I want a job because I need money to buy things. I keep seeing loads of stuff I want and I can't buy it. It's getting depressing. I hate actually doing work but if I get money for doing it then I suppose it's worth it.
Lots of my friends have jobs now and I feel like I'm never going to get one. It's not like I got bad grades, I actually done pretty well at my GCSEs. Why don't they want me? Probably because I'm not very attractive so customers will run away, or maybe it's because I'm so antisocial that it puts people off. I hate talking to people. And retail means that I have to talk to people. So it's going to be horrible when I finally do get a job. That's why I've applied for places that don't get too many customers, that way I don't have to talk to too many people.
I feel like I have this list in my head of all the things I am going to buy when I finally have a job. Thinking about it makes me really excited to get a job. But there's still the issue of no one wanting to hire me. I guess I just have to keep trying till I find a company that are really desperate, so desperate that they'll hire me! I just want money guys.

My crush
This is the story of my crush. For the purposes of keeping his identity a secret I will be calling him "what what" which is the nickname my friends came up with for him. So I started liking him about a year ago and at the time I was still with my ex boyfriend (the one who was a jerk) but then when we broke up I dint feel so bad about liking "what what". I remember, it was a week in December, near my birthday, and my friend asked one of his friends if he liked anyone and then she came straight back to me afterwards and his friend guessed that I liked "what what". Therefore his friend decided that he would tell him that I liked him. I never denied it but for some reason he never believed it.
My best friend made a joke saying that he'd be at my birthday party. He was. Not because I invited him. We were bowling and he was at the same place watching the football. This creeped me out in so many ways. Then the year went on. I'd talk to him every now and again, he started calling me "pug" god knows why though. It became our thing. He'd always call me a pug whenever he saw me and I'd always tell him to shut up and that it wasn't funny (now when he says "hi pug" I just say "hi" back I don't bother telling him to shut up because he won't). My friends always tell me that it's really obvious that I like him, so he either already knows that I like him or he's really stupid.
Anyway, from September I discovered that he's in my psychology class at sixth form so I get to spend another two years with him. My friends seem to think that he might like me back but I'm pretty sure he doesn't. He's one of those people who just talks to anyone, I have his number though but that's only because he felt sorry for me because I barely have any contacts on my phone haha. My friend Elli is persistent on saying that we "flirt" with each other, but I will continue to deny that.
So that's the story of my crush. We will never be together because he is too good for me. Plus we're like complete opposites, he is sporty and I am one of the laziest people on the planet, he's friendly and I'm really antisocial. But I'll update you if anything ever does happen. Thanks for reading, have a nice day.

Self harm
This is a really sensitive subject, and quite personal to me. I know that there are actually a lot of people who are going through this so I thought that I would post my thoughts about it.
As someone who is actually currently trying to cope with self harm I understand what it's like. I obviously won't know exactly what other people are going through, as everyone has their own reasons. But I have an idea. I have personally experienced the feeling of wanting to cause physical pain on myself. I have sat in my room at 2am with a blade in my hand just wanting to end everything. I am not the type of person who is very good at talking about my feelings, especially about this, but I want to share my story in order to maybe try to help other people feeling similar.
My self harming started when I was in middle school. I was very badly bullied, by practically everyone in my year. I had no friends and I would sit inside in the classroom at break time instead of going outside because I didn't want to face the other students. I began scratching my arms, not severely. I didn't even know what self harming was back then. I just felt miserable and believed the things that the bullies told me, so I hurt myself as a way to 'punish' myself for not being good enough. This was where it began.
Once I started high school I stopped for about three years before starting again when I was in year 9. Again I was being bullied, not as badly as before but it would remind me that I'm not good enough and made me believe that I was never going to fit in or be accepted by anyone. It led to a lot of self hatred. The small, insignificant scratches became deeper scratches that would bleed sometimes. I was 13 and I had begun to completely despise myself. My parents eventually found out and tried to get me help. A woman would visit me every week or so to try to help me, but to be honest she didn't really help so I just lied and told her that I had stopped and she eventually stopped seeing me. I never did actually stop, but I went on and off for the next few years.
The next really bad time for me was last year, when I broke up with my ex boyfriend. Since he had, as I saw it, "dumped me for one of my best friends" I felt this worthlessness all over again. As if I wasn't good enough. This slowly led up to me going into practically a complete depression, or at least that's how it felt to me. I suppose I still feel that way now. Constantly hating myself and feeling like I'm not good enough so I self harm. To take away whatever pain I feel inside, to distract me from the hatred I have for myself, to feel in control. The damage I do has become worse over the years and I'm now pretty sure I'm scarred in several places. These will be constant reminders of what I felt.
I feel as though I'm too fat, too ugly, not smart enough, not funny enough, just not good enough. I hate every inch of myself. It's a horrible feeling that I wish would go away. But I know that if I want to feel better then it's going to take time. I am currently awaiting a letter that will be starting off my journey towards feeling better and ending my self harm. I am one of those lucky people who have wonderful friends and family who are there to support them. It's going to be a tough journey, but I know that in the long run I will end up feeling much happier.
I won't go into any more detail about how I feel as I don't want this to be too triggering and as I said, I don't like talking about it. If this post does help anyone, anyone at all then I will be really glad. And if you aren't suffering yourself, but you know someone who is then you need to know that you should just treat them as normal and whatever you do don't make them promise that they'll stop because it's the worst thing you could say. Thanks for reading, have a good day.

Zero Best Friend
This post is about my best friend. Paige. We met when we were in year 8, forming a friendship over laughing at our other friend Lish. We were really good friends till about year 10 when we slowly became best friends. Like all other best friends we had silly private jokes that no one else would understand (England, vampire friend, what what, gods gift, etc) and we got along like a house on fire. Most of the time when we were together I would talk and she would laugh at me and complain about me talking too much. People would say that we were 'joint at the hip' because we spent so much time together. There was this guy in several of our lessons and some how I decided that he was her 'best friend' aka her 'vampire friend'. This resulted to me becoming her 'zero best friend' which actually felt quite appropriate really because it was like saying that I was more than her best friend, more like a sister, which was how it felt. Paige is one of those antisocial, rude people who doesn't care what other people thought. She is one of those peope who can always make you laugh no matter what.
When we finished high school, we both had to go our separate ways. I went to sixth form and she went to college. This meant that our time together was cut right down. It's times like these that make you realise how much a person means to you and words cannot describe how much I miss my best friend. Sometimes it feels like she may no longer be my best friend, but the minute I talk to her or think about old times together I know that no one will ever replace her and she will always be my zero best friend.

Obsessions
We've all got our own obsessions, some have more than others. I am one of those people with a lot of obsessions, so I thought I'd share them with you all! :)
1. One direction - I know this makes me sound like a typical teenage girl but I do really like them, mostly their music because I heard one thing and I was like "oh I wonder who sings this?"
2. 5SOS - I have posted about these four Australian idiots before, they're an amazing band and I love them!
3. The Vampire Diaries - I share this obsession with my good friend lish (check out her blog http://allaboutmealiciaf.blogspot.co.uk ) and we are constantly obsessing over all the hot guys in the show! ;)
4. Youtubers - this consists of danisnotonfire, amazingphil, kickthepj, crabstickz, zoella, sprinkleofgliter, Shane Dawson, Joey Graceffa, pewdiepie, Marcus Butler, Troye Sivan, Tyler Oakley, and so many more!
5. All Time Low - such an awesome band, I love them!
6. Death Note - an anime series, it's Japanese but obviously I watch the English dubbed ones, and it's amazing! I love L so much!
7. Blink 182 - no words can describe how amazing they are (my music taste vary quite a lot going from 1D to Blink haha)
8. Notebooks - ok so I have like ten billion notebooks and I just love them, I don't even care what I use them for, I will never have enough notebooks!
9. Harry Potter - love the films, currently reading the books (which I'm finding difficult because I never have much spare time)
10. Warehouse 13 - a awesom tv series that I am waiting to come back for the next season!
11. The internet - this meaning twitter, blogging, tumblr, Pinterest, YouTube and loads more!
I think I'm going to stop here, because I could go on and on about all my obsessions. It sounds quite bad that I am obsessed with so many things, but these things make me happy and there is nothing wrong with that! If you are obsessed to loads of things too then embrace it and don't let anyone tell you that you can't have that many obsessions because it's your life and you can obsess over what evr you want!
Claire :)

The future
I had this really interesting thought today. I was just sitting on the bus when I wondered "what will I be like in 10 years?" It's a typical question that a lot of people ask themselves. I ask myself this quite often, but sometimes I change my mind. For example, earlier this year I was sure that I would do art and photography at sixth form, then university and become a photographer. But now I am doing sociology, psychology and maths, which I'll probably continue something similar in university then possibly be a detective. However, sometimes, I really just don't know where I'll be in ten years time. I know that I want to go to university, but will I ever actually make it? I know I want to move to London, but will I? I just don't know. I won't know until I get there. What I do know, is that I have to work my way there, which means I have to start now.
You never know what your future will hold. You'll change your mind so many times and sometimes you won't achieve what you were hoping for. But if you do want something bad enough, you have to work for it, and you have to start now. Especially for things like University, you'll need the right grades to get in and if you don't work hard now then you'll never get them. But no matter what you want to achieve in life, don't give up. Keep trying to achieve your goal, and if you work hard enough, then it will happen and you will succeed.
But try not to worry too much about what's going to happen to you in the future, or you'll spend your whole life worrying. Just live in the now. Think about what you're doing right now, not what you'll be doing in ten years. And always remember to just do whatever makes you happy.
